The accommodation is a difficult issue for students and their parents. The campus offers you short way from the lecture halls and moreover, what I think is more important, provides you the case to meet new people and improve your relationships with them while you are on the campus.
However, to stay at home is another possibility that provides you the sensation of staying in your safe zone and the help of your family for any problem.
For deciding between this two options you have to take in account your income level and that if you go on a campus you will suffer a big change in your daily life.
In conclusion, I think that it could be a good experience to live on a campus to adapting easily to the university life but if your income level is too low or you don't want to see big changes in your life to live at home is also a good option.
