Gattaca (film review)

I will do the film review about this film called Gattaca because since a lot of time I don't see any complete film and this one I have seen it in class, on the CMC subject. Another reason to chose this film is because I like a lot this topic of the DNA and all things related with genetics and this is the only film I have seen that talks about this topic without doing it boring. 

First of all this strange title is because gattaca is a sequence of the DNA molecule. This was the first that catch me the attention. 

The film is set in a future human society, where people is separated in two social classes since they born. This is because in this time is possible and allowed to make a baby "in vitro" with the best characteristics and since people born they know when they will die, their intelligence and which type of job they will do. So they can be valid or in-valid for a job only looking on their DNA. In my opinion I think that this is a bit futurist and unreal because it's certain that with your DNA you can see probabilities of some diseases but you can't see the job or when someone will die.

The story is about a boy called Vincent that is an in-valid one and they have always wanted to go to the stars but he can't because he is an in-valid and he was predestined to be cleaner. When he is older he buy the identity of a valid one that is in wheelchair and he start working in a company that sent its workers to the stars. Since this moment all his life change completely and he became a valid one with all the advantages that this implies. 

I can't explain the final of the story but is a bit shocking because it's happy and sad at the same time.

I liked a lot the film specially for the topic and because is something different that we are not accustomed to see.
